The Bard class (バード, Baado) is a class first appearing in FESK and T776. In those games, the Bard class uses Fire, Thunder, Wind, and Light magic and can be promoted to the Sage class. However, in FEFT and FERK, they are able to play music to refresh party members, giving them another chance to move. There are no enemy bards; all bards are allies.
The Bard (バード Bard) is a basic class which debuted in FE4. Present in four games in the series, it plays two different gameplay roles in its different appearances.

In the Jugdral games (Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776) they are very capable of fighting, but because of their low physical defense, they should be kept away from the front lines. In the Elibe games (Fuuin no Tsurugi and Blazing Sword) bards have no attacking capabilities, so they should be kept away from the front lines.
In the Jugdral duology, Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776, the Bard is an offensive magic class with access to both light magic and the three forms of anima magic.  They possess significant magical power, skill and speed, but are lacking in defensive stats as with most offensive magic classes.  The class is exclusive to two characters between the two games: Lewyn in the former and Homer in the latter. Bards promote to the Sage class.

In Jugdral, bards change class to sages; in Elibe, they do not change class.

A similar class to the later form of the Bard class is the Dancer class.

In the Elibe duology, Fuuin no Tsurugi and Blazing Sword, Bards act instead as the direct male equivalent of the Dancer class, performing songs to refresh their allies and give them another turn of movement.  Here, it is a pure support class with no offensive ability whatsoever, and cannot promote at all; the class is again exclusive to two specific characters, Elphin in the former and Nils in the latter.

* The flavor text stating that bards are "Musicians whose songs inspire allies." may refer to the fact that in real-world history, most bards were traveling musicians during the Middle Ages who made a living incorporating storytelling into their songs. For many communities, this was their only real form of outside entertainment that the community could enjoy as a whole.

The Bard (バード Bard) is a basic class which debuted in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Present in four games in the series, it plays two different gameplay roles in its different appearances.
