Fire Emblem Gaiden

The Prayer Ring (Japanese: 祈りの指輪 Prayer Ring) is an accessory item in the ring category of equipment exclusive to Fire Emblem Gaiden and its remake, Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. In Gaiden, the Prayer Ring heals 5 HP to the bearer each turn and, if the bearer still has less than half of their maximum HP remaining, their critical rate is boosted to 100%, making the effects of the ring more similar to Wrath than Miracle (Prayer in Japanese), though the ring predates both Skills. In Echoes, it retains the HP recovery effect but instead gives the Miracle skill, making it closer in function to the Miracle Band in Genealogy of the Holy War.

Trivia

  • In Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the Wrath skill is present, but appears to be unused. It is possible it was originally to be used for the Prayer Band in line with Gaiden, but was scrapped in favor of Miracle.

English

Prayer Ring

"Prayer" is in reference to the skill it gives, though the localization muddies this somewhat. The Miracle skill is known as "Prayer" in Japanese; despite the skill itself being renamed for English releases, the localized name of the ring ended up retaining its Japanese name.

• Used by Serenes Forest before the release of Shadows of Valentia, in attempt to predict the localized name and bring it in line with the Miracle Skill's (Prayer in Japanese) localized name.
