Formshift Icon of the Formshift skill in Radiant Dawn. Allows the unit to transform at any time. The unit will stay transformed until choosing to revert forms.

Formshift (Japanese: 王者 King) is a combat skill which is exclusive to Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Exclusively used by the kings and queens of the laguz tribes, it allows these characters to completely ignore the effects of their transform gauge and allows them to transform or revert from their animal form at any time, without any stat penalty or gauge decay. Royal laguz units still enter chapters untransformed, but transforming through this skill does not count as an accion the unit is free to move, enter combat or use items and skills. It replaces the Laguz Band item of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, which performed the same function.

The Laguz Gem item grants non royal laguz units a similar effect, but unlike Formshift this counts as an action the turn it is used, and they are very limited in supply. Wildheart is similar mechanically, but user still experiences gauge decay and suffers a significant stat penalty.
