This is a page about Fire Emblem Wiki's Article and Image Quality Standards. If any more standards should be added in the future, they will be and a news post will be made on the main page.

Article Quality

When creating an article, there are several things that are required for the article to be considered good. Below are our regulations and expectations for good written articles.

General Article Regulations

  • An article must have at least a paragraph of information so it will not be considered a stub. Stubs are pages with a short amount of information, and that isn't good for an article.
  • Grammar, spelling, organization, etc. are also required for a page. If a page has a ton of mispellings, please use the {{GrammarSpelling}} template. This will automatically place the page into a special category where several members can easily access the page (or pages) needing this sort of help.
  • All pages should be placed in a category to ensure neatness of the wiki.
  • No duplicate pages for an article. That means do not have a Lot and Lott page with exact same information; redirect (#REDIRECT) to the properly named article (in this case, Lot and not Lott). Similar topics, but different pages, can be merged if determined by majority vote. If you are wanting to merge two articles, use the {{merge}} template.

Wanted Pages

  • As of now, pages that should be made are classes, chapters, characters, weapons, and the sort. You should only link to pages that are deemed important enough for their own page. For example: Silver Lance. Do not link to a page about a rock unless that rock means a gem or something relating to the Fire Emblem or even a Dragonstone.
  • Before creating the wanted page, click on the "what links here" link beside the wanted to page. This ensures that the page is being properly linked to a page. A common error is for spelling names wrong, such as spelling Lot as Lott. Correct any uncorrected wanted links.
  • Do NOT full up wanted pages and make them stubs. If you are going to fill a wanted page out, at least use the proper templates per article as well type at least five sentences (or one paragraph) somewhere on the page.

Article Formatting

  • Everything on Fire Emblem Wiki should be written in American English (aside from Japanese names for games and items). That means there should be no British English. This means you should type color and not colour.
  • Articles should be lengthy (meaning a minimum of three sentences large). There are some pages which would be really small, but for pages such as the Ike page, the staff would like our article writers to add more information. Pages which normally should be long, but have small amounts of information should be marked as a {{stub}} (using said template).

Content

  • Do not copy from Wikipedia or another Fire Emblem based wiki (including the Fire Emblem Wiki on Wikia). That is considered theft. That means not copying word for word. Even if you change a few words, if it matches up mostly, the page will be taken down.
  • No linking to downloadable Fire Emblem mangas (except if you use it to properly link to where you got the page from), episodes, etc. This is against federal law and we can block (ban) you from the wiki.
