This article is about knives as a broader weapon type. For the specific type of knife which goes by this name, see Knife (weapon).

The knife (ナイフ knife) is a weapon type exclusive to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Almost entirely the domain of thieves and related classes, knives are relatively weak and average in every other respect compared to other weapon types. Knives are loosely divided into two varieties: standard one-range daggers, and throwing knives with 1-2 range.

In Path of Radiance, knives lacked an actual weapon rank of their own, instead having their use locked to classes possessing the Knife skill and thus allowing any such unit to use any knife; they gained a proper weapon rank and according rank scaling in Radiant Dawn.

There are 15 knife varieties in the entire Fire Emblem series; of these, twelve appear only in Radiant Dawn while three appear only in Path of Radiance.
