Soldier is one of several classes that can be found in the Fire Emblem series.

Soldiers are usually extremely weak and incompetent. They often have low stats all around and are easy to defeat. Still, playable soldiers usually are an exception to the rule, such as Nephenee of Path of Radiance or Fols of Gaiden. They use lances, making them physical attackers. Soldiers can hold out well in the front line of the player's army, since they are physical units.

The Soldier class is a class of lance-wielding foot soldiers that has appeared in most of the Fire Emblem games, only absent in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. In most games they are an enemy-only class, and the only games in which they are playable are Fire Emblem Gaiden, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

In Gaiden, soldiers change class to armors, which then change class to barons. In Path of Radiance, they change class to halberdiers. Finally, in Radiant Dawn, they change class to halberdiers, which then change class to sentinels.
