Fire Emblem Fates 4koma Comic & Character Guide Book (Japanese: ファイアーエムブレムif 4コマ・キャラクターガイドブック Fire Emblem if 4koma・Character Guide Book) is an art and guidebook featuring characters from the Fire Emblem Fates series. It presents every playable character from the games with an exclusive artwork, as well as two four-panels gag comics, called 4koma.
Overview
The book is a softcover with a dust jacket, containing 145 small-format pages (7.1 per 5 inches). The front of the jacket depicts Male Corrin, Takumi, Ryoma, Camilla, Elise and Azura, while the back depicts Female Corrin, Leo, Xander, Sakura and Hinoka, amounting to the whole of the royal families of Nohr and Hoshido. Without the jacket, the front and back covers of the book are much more minimalist, with Azura's staff (on the front) and base Yato (on the back) represented in two-tones white and silver colors.
On the fore-edge of the book are markings indicating the faction of each character: red for Hoshidans, purplish blue for Nohrians, brownish yellow for either, and green for Fuga, the only character to appear in Revelations only. The last two pages lack these markings as well as comics, and are dedicated to the four amiibo characters Ike, Lucina, Marth and Robin. All characters presented in the books are playable with the exception of Lilith.
Each character has two dedicated pages (with the exception of amiibo characters). On the right-hand page is an exclusive artwork of the character, its name both in kana and latin script, a nickname, its in-game voice actor, a short bio, its birth date, and the games it can be recruited in, represented by their symbols. The left-hand page is dedicated to two 4koma centered on the character, where it interacts with other characters and demonstrates key personality traits in humorous situations. The same artist pens the character artwork and 4koma.
