Klein is a sniper that joins in chapter 11A or 10B depending on the route the player has chosen. While Klein's bases on normal mode might seem a bit low for his join time, thanks to hard mode bonuses he is a particularly strong prepromote on hard mode. Klein is capable of one rounding most enemies in his joining chapters thanks to his aformentioned high bases and A rank in bows, giving him access to almost every bow in the game and making him a great candidate for the Mulagir. Klein also has fairly decent growths for The Binding Blade standards, especially for a prepromoted unit, however he won't make very good use of said growths thanks to his nonexistent enemy phase. In chapter 12 the player gets access to the Brave Bow and Klein will likely be it's first user. The Brave Bow sports somewhat shaky hit rates, but those are largely irrelevant thanks to Klein's excellent skill, and high might allowing him to take out or deal great damage to many enemy units. Another thing going into Klein's favour is the level design of The Binding Blade and lack of good 1-2 range making bows desireable, as well as multiple chapters containing dangerous enemy flyers that Klein is particularly useful against. Unfortunately Klein faces somewhat steep competition form Igrene, Sue and Sin. Igrene comes with better bases and her lower bow rank is largely irrelevant as the Killer Bow is the best bow in the game, while both Sin and Sue have a mount giving them far greater utility as well as the ability to retaliate at 1 range upon promotion. Klein's combat will also fall off in the later parts of the game as the enemies will become too strong for him to one round and his lack of an enemy phase will become a particular detriment.

Overall, Klein is a solid unit that will be useful for large parts of the game, but fall off somewhat later. Unlike most GBA Archers and Snipers who are largely useless, due to the high amount of enemy flyers, combined with the more player phased focused gameplay of The Binding Blade and access to accurate weaponry along with the lack of good 1-2 range, besides magic, means that Klein stands out as a useful unit that requires no investment to contribute well on most teams.
