Defense/Resistance Near Save (Japanese: 盾の護り手・近間 Shield Guardian・Close-Range) is a three-tiered passive type C skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; the individual tiers of the skill are known as D/R Near Save 1, D/R Near Save 2 and D/R Near Save 3 in order from lowest to highest. Units with a D/R Near Save skill, whenever an enemy wielding a range-1 weapon skill initiates combat against an ally within two spaces of its user, allows its user to jump into that combat in that ally's place provided the user can stand on the ally's space (and provided another character in range does not possess a similar effect that would nullify or override this skill) and receiving all of the non-movement after-combat effects from that combat while also getting a boost to their Defense and Resistance during that combat; the tier of the skill affects the size of the stat boost.
