Horsemen (ホースメン, Hoosumen, Horsemen in Japan) are a bow- and sword-wielding class present in Fire Emblem. Their first appearance was in Template:FEARHT, and they can only be found in games set in Archanea. Similar classes are the nomadic troopers in Elibe and rangers in Magvel.
In Template:FEARHT and Template:FEMN, they only used bows. Swords were added in the remakes of those games. This addition gives them the ability to attack adjacent units; in the original games, they were locked to attacking from a distance.
In Template:FEARHT, horsemen are a basic class and cannot be promoted. Starting with Template:FEMN, they are the only possible promotion for hunters, and in Template:FEMN they become hunters when forced to dismount.
