Together, the Legendary Weapons pointed the way to the location of the Dragon Sanctuary, where Roy defeated Brunnya and the Fire Dragon Jahn before confronting Idunn herself. Roy learned that Jahn had magically compelled Idunn to produce war dragons for the Scouring. He also learned that in the final battle of the Scouring, when Hartmut had wielded the Binding Blade against Idunn, Hartmut's pity for Idunn prevented the Binding Blade from inflicting a fatal blow on her. Roy also wielded the Binding Blade against Idunn, wishing to break Jahn's compulsion on her rather than kill her.
