The Lair of Fire (Japanese: 炎の洞窟 Cave of Flame) is the fourth side quest in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. In order to reach this chapter, the player must have 15 or fewer units alive at the end of Chapter 20.
Plot

The Lair of Fire/Script
After the downfall of Grust, the last remnants of the military take the inhabitants of a village hostage in a desperate attempt to stave off Marth's forces. However, they are butchered by a mighty warrior named Ymir. Marth's army arrives and finishes off the Grust stragglers; Ymir, who was initially doubtful of Marth's righteousness, is convinced to join him.

Team Division:
- Left Path Group: Equip units with Armorslayers, Ridersbanes, and/or magic to handle various threats.
- Middle Path Group: This group should comprise of sturdy units a healer to confront enemy Generals and Paladins.
- Right Path Group: This smaller team should include units with high HP and magic, prepared to tackle the Manakete near the bridge.
- If the team is low on diversity and strength, move through a single path instead.
Key Considerations During Battle:
- Ymir remains stationary unless attacked or if a unit enters his attack range. Talk to him with Marth to recruit him after the chapter.
- One Bishop holds a Fortify staff, so plan on eliminating units in one turn. Keep your low resistance units a safe distance away from the other Bishop with the Swarm tome.
Boss Encounter:
