The Battle of Garreg Mach (Japanese: ガルグ=マクの戦い Battle of Garreg Mach) is the main battle map of the twelfth chapter in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. In this map, Byleth defends the Church of Seiros from a bloody attack by Edelgard and the Adrestian Empire.

The Imperial army, led by Edelgard, advances on Garreg Mach. As everyone struggles to process this turn of events, the grim reality of war fast approaches.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

This is the final battle of Part I. All of your inventory items are automatically repaired to full after the battle, so go nuts with your Heroes' Relics and other powerful weapons. Your first move is to rip right through the two Pegasus Knights and the Archer in the center, the Knight and Archer on the right, and the Warrior on the left. The first big threat to your health comes in the Flying Demonic Beasts coming up the left side - spare no expense in shooting them down. Fortunately, the Knights of Seiros can take a bump or two before buckling and aren't shy about using gambits. On Maddening, the Death Knight aggros automatically, so leave someone on the right who can take him out. Also make sure to pick off the approaching Pegasus Knights - they're fast, hit hard, and can slip past your defensive line if you're not careful. On turn 2, you're given the order to take the strongholds held by Hubert and the Death Knight so your friendly reinforcements can get through. While doing this, send some strong units to hold the center. As you make your way towards Edelgard, Randolph will automatically aggro; waste him. Once he's down, Edelgard herself will aggro; take her out to claim victory.

Trivia

  • On the Black Eagles version of this chapter, the player loses access to the deployment slot used by Dimitri and Claude on their routes. This persists for every main story mission up until the final battle of the Silver Snow route.
