Template talk:NavClass

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.

It's unsolicited opinion time!

Looking at this template, I'm starting to think that it's really unwieldly and chaotic. Between the sheer number of classes and how it's split up by game of introduction, it feels disorganized, daunting to look at, and not particularly useful for navigation. Part of this is how the game-of-introduction sorting criteria sort of leads to a lot of unintuitive things like the promoted versions of a class dangling awkwardly without their base versions around (e.g. Brave Hero sitting a whopping twelve rows away from Fighter and Mercenary!) and that causes problems with quick and logical navigation, IMO. It might be better off if it were to take a leaf from the numerous weapon-type templates and get divided up into multiple templates, either a series of templates based on class type (foot soldiers, cavalry, fliers, armors, magic classes, monsters, special things like manaketes/laguz/taguel/etc) or a "classes in this game" template for each game, each of which split into rows based on promotion tier. --some idiot (talk) 04:20, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

I support splitting the templates for the same reason that I support the splitting of the skill navigation template. Regarding the DS games having the same classes, FE12 has all of FE11's but adds a couple. PikaSamus (talk) 02:44, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
I have proposed a model as a template for Classes in FE1.
Classes in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
Base classes ArcherCavalierFighterHunterKnightMageMercenaryPegasus KnightPiratePriest
Promoted classes BishopDracoknightGeneralHeroHorsemanPaladinSniper
Special classes BallisticianFreelancerLordManaketeThief
Does the classes be split like this or reorganised into something else? Kristak(talk) 11:26, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
I had put a few class navboxes on my sandbox page a long time ago but I never finished it. PikaSamus (talk) 12:17, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
