Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
This is the first compulsory three-way battle of the game. Before you begin, there are a few points worth noting: you are unable to use mission assistance units (at least the ones that are part of other competing houses), you can receive a Blessed Lance for defeating at least 12 enemy units, and even on Classic, your units will not die permanently if defeated, due to it being a mock battle. With all of this in mind, the best strategy for maximum gain is to go full offense; permanent death is off, and a reward is waiting if you succeed in K.O.-ing enough enemies. Your first order of business is to charge down the middle and take the central hill so you can get between the Black Eagles and Blue Lions before they start taking each other out and harming your KO count. You should also send a detachment to the east to start hammering away at Ashe and his goons; these guys will slip down the east flank and take out Dimitri. He hits like a dump truck and is fairly fast, but he has no real answer to Lysithea with Thyrsus. Bernadetta drops a Chest Key, which can be used to claim the chest on the south side of the map. It's tucked away in a fairly remote corner, so don't forget it. As long as you're aggressive and you don't get too many bad breaks when the Eagles and Lions fight each other, you should come out on top.
