This staff here? It's magical and can return life to those who have passed on already.
— Claud, to Tailto

The Valkyrie Staff (バルキリーの杖) is a holy staff once borne by Archbishop Blagi of the Twelve Crusaders, bestowed upon him at the Miracle of Darna following his blood bond with a dragon. It is the property of Blagi's descendants, the nobility of House Edda of Grandbell, and can only be used by those who bear major Blagi Holy Blood. Analogious to the Aum staff of the later Archanea era of the world, the staff is capable of resurrecting a dead individual, albeit limited to those who in life possessed a substantial amount of quintessence[1].

Assumed by the descendants of House Edda to have been lost for some time, Claud found it in Blagi Tower during his trip there to pray and see the true nature of the conflict embroiling Sigurd. He retrieved it and carried it with him in his travels with Sigurd. After his death, it came into the possession of his staff-wielding son.

Trivia

  • The Valkyrie Staff is the only one of the Crusader weapons (not counting Loptous, which though bound by Holy Blood isn't a Crusader weapon) to not reappear in Awakening; its counterpart Aum also did not appear in said game.
