The Dark Pontifex Lives (Japanese: 魔王再び The Demon King Again) is the twenty-third chapter of Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem. In Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, the same map is the second part of the three-part endgame-2, The Dragon's Table.
Plot

The Altean Army arrives at the floor where the Dark Pontifex Gharnef resides. Marth demands to know where his sister and the other clerics have gone. Gharnef tells him they will serve as a sacrifice for Medeus' awakening, and that their souls have been broken.
After defeating Gharnef, Marth and his troops climb more stairs to get to Medeus.
