The Encounter (Japanese: 遭遇戦 Encounter Battle) is the third chapter in TearRing Saga: Yutona Heroes War Chronicles.

Plot

After subduing the bandits, Runan returns to Verje. Marlon reveals that Codha has sent his forces to march on Verje. The two decide to make the first strike as a show of force to convince the neutral nobles to side with Marlon in the conflict. Meanwhile, Codha orders Berom and Dommes to lead his troops towards Fort Wellt and leaves Roger to defend Gram. When Roger questions his recent actions, Codha threatens his family to ensure his compliance.

Runan's army begins to march to Gram, but is attacked by Eritz at Port Saura. During the battle, Runan encounters Narsus, a deserter from Holmes's forces, and sends him to Gram to gather intelligence on Codha's movements. Ultimately, Runan's forces prevail, and Marlon reveals that Eritz was an average knight who only fought so well out of fear for his family's safety, much to Runan's horror. Marlon also reveals that the Temple of Mars lies beyond Gram; it is home to the wise and powerful sage Ezenbah. Kreiss and Arkis discuss the invasion of Reeve and the welfare of Kreiss' younger sister and Arkis' fiancée Rina, while Julia recounts the day her life was saved from pirates by a man she suspects to be Garo, a claim he denies. At the Temple, Ezenbah senses something foul stirring and realizes Guenchaos is making his move. He orders the pegasus knight Mahter to warn Enteh of the coming danger and bring her back.
