The Sword is a relatively unknown sword-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. It initially appeared only in Gaiden, the second NES installment of the series, its role in other games being taken by the Iron Sword and the Bronze Sword, before finally reappearing in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, twenty-five years after its previous appearance in the series.
It is a basic weapon for Fighters, Priestesss, Princesses, Villagers, Mercenaries, Myrmidons, Dread Fighters, and (in Echoes) Children, and one of two basic weapons for Heroes, with no base might of its own but being wieldable without otherwise having a weapon equipped.
