Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Sigrun is a high-level Falcoknight that joins the Greil Mercenaries from the start of 3-11. She has a low strength base and mediocre bases everywhere else except her high luck, so her combat is somewhat poor without investment. Due to being a flier, she has excellent mobility, Canto, and rescue-dropping utility, and she can immediately contribute in her join chapter despite her mediocre stats by helping ferry units across pitfall traps. Sigrun unfortunately struggles with the presence of crossbow users, as she will be one-shot by even the weakest crossbow. Sigrun does join only two levels away from promoting (or a Master Crown can be used), which grants her some appreciated stat boosts, especially in strength and bulk, and turns her into a stronger combat unit with high Stun activation.

Sigrun has a decent growth in strength and high growths in skill, luck, and resistance, but extremely low growths in HP, speed and defense. She cannot rely on BEXP to improve these stats initially, because she joins two levels away from promoting. If Sigrun’s speed and defense are raised, she can become a solid endgame choice due to her high caps in speed and resistance, but her low strength limits her damage output, especially against the many generals of 4-E-1.

In Part IV, Sigrun is forced into Micaiah’s team. She can contribute well there due to her flight and rescue-dropping, especially in 4-3, though there are many crossbow users there.

Sigrun starts with no skills. Sigrun most appreciates having Nullify to negate her bow and crossbow weakness. She can also make good use of Pavise to improve her durability, thanks to her very high skill growth. Upon promoting, Sigrun learns Stun, which she makes great use of due to her high skill.

Sigrun has a water affinity which gives attack and defense, bonuses she particularly appreciates due to her mediocre strength and durability. Sigrun does not particularly benefit from accuracy-based supports due to her excellent skill and luck growths, but she can always make use of avoid bonuses due to her mediocre speed. Sigrun benefits from a support with another water affinity, and Ulki makes a good partner for her due to sharing a water affinity and having similar mobility, though Sigrun’s low availability might prevent building up a meaningful support.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Role

There are two different variations of Sigrun available to Heroes, both based on her storyline appearance in Path of Radiance. The normal variation of Sigrun added to the game in the Brave Echoes update, and was made available to players in the eighteenth edition of the Tempest Trials+, "A Hero's Mettle", which initially ran from August 17, 2019 through August 27, 2019. A bridal variation of Sigrun was made available between the period of May 21, 2019 through June 21, 2019 in a special variation as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Bridal Belonging update, the update where this variation was added to the game. Sigrun is one of a very few characters to date who had a special variation made available to players before their normal variation in which the normal variation has actually been added to the game, another example being Shigure.

Quotes

Battle quotes

Fear is our greatest enemy! Defend the apostle with your lives!
— Sigrun, in Part III, Chapter 12 of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: You are Daein's Maiden of Dawn? Your reputation is known across the face of Tellius. They say you are the savior who rescued the people of Daein from the empire's oppression. I see now that their stories were false. Daein remains a simple puppet.
Micaiah: I am not here to talk, I am here to fight. This is Daein's only chance of survival.

— Sigrun, when fighting Micaiah in Part III, Chapter 12 of Radiant Dawn.
Sothe: I knew I'd run into you. You never leave the apostle's side.
Sigrun: You... You used to travel with the Greil Mercenaries.
Sothe: Used to. Not anymore. I'm a member of the Daein army now.
Sigrun: Does Sir Ike know about this?
Sothe: It doesn't matter. I'm my own person.
Sigrun: You're right, it doesn't matter. If you are after the apostle, you are my enemy. Prepare to meet the goddess.

— Sigrun, when fighting Sothe in Part III, Chapter 12 of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: If I may ask... Are you not Lord Fizzart's daughter?
Jill: How did you know?
Sigrun: I am Sigrun of the Holy Guards. Have you not heard my name from Haar?
Jill: Yes, I remember... You were the one who negotiated to let my father's men and their families stay in Begnion.
Sigrun: That's right.
Jill: ...I'm so sorry. I'm sorry we have to meet under these circumstances.
Sigrun: Lady Jill... It's not too late. Would you please withdraw?
Jill: No... I can't. I know that this mission is terrible. Even so, I cannot abandon my comrades or my country.
Sigrun: I see... Very well. I shall remember your conviction when the battle is done.

— Sigrun, when fighting Jill in Part III, Chapter 12 of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: I remember you... You used to travel with the Greil Mercenaries. Why are you fighting us?
Zihark: I couldn't abandon the people of my homeland.
Sigrun: I see... You are from Daein. Then there is no way for us to avoid this confrontation?
Zihark: I'm afraid not. Just like you want to protect your own country, I want to protect mine.
Sigrun: ... I am sorry to hear that.

— Sigrun, when fighting Zihark in Part III, Chapter 12 of Radiant Dawn.
Jill: I apologize for targeting the apostle during the battle in the valley. We violated the code of chivalry. There is no excuse for our actions.
Sigrun: The apostle has already forgiven you, and I have nothing to add. However, I do regret having to lose so many lives in this useless battle.

— Sigrun, when fighting Jill in Part III, Endgame of Radiant Dawn.
Yuma: The dark god breeds foul corruption through the words of its false apostle! Her soul is a blackened, withered husk, and we shall banish it from this world!
Sigrun: As long as I draw breath, you will not lay hands on Apostle Sanaki.

— Sigrun, when fighting Yuma in Part IV, Prologue of Radiant Dawn.
Numida: It's tragic, really, that the Holy Knights have wasted so much time and energy protecting a sham apostle! It's not too late, you know, to align yourself with the true chosen of the Goddess.
Sigrun: The loyalty of the holy Knights can only be commanded by one person, and that will never change. It is my duty and my privilege to execute her orders and destroy the enemies of the apostle!

— Sigrun, when fighting Numida in Part IV, Chapter 3 of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: Senator Hetzel! Do I understand correctly that you oppose Apostle Sanaki alongside Vice-Minister Lekain?
Hetzel: Th-that's absurd! Vice-Minister Lekain opposes the apostle! I'm just... I'm just following orders!

— Sigrun, when fighting Hetzel in Part IV, Endgame (1) of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: Lekain, Duke of Gaddos... Don't bother with any of your practiced lies. Speak with your weapon.
Lekain: Dame Sigrun... I suppose I'm not surprised. I should have known you would still be on Sanaki's leash! Have you asked yourself why? She is a mere pretender to the throne. You're just a dog to a false apostle!
Sigrun: Correct me if I'm wrong, Lord Lekain, but Sanaki was formally recognized by the senators as the empress. Where in Begnion law is an empress required to also be an apostle? This sounds like yet another case of you senators trying to twist the law for your own benefit.
Lekain: Bah! Your legalistic manipulations don't make you right!
Sigrun: For too long, we have tolerated you bending laws for your own benefit, with no foundation whatsoever in justice. Now it's time for you to pay for your sins!
Lekain: Impudence! You can't beat me... I am the chosen one!

— Sigrun, when fighting Lekain in Part IV, Endgame (1) of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: Sir Levail, you stand against Empress Sanaki. Lay down your weapons.
Levail: I cannot, Lady Sigrun. As strong as your loyalty is for the apostle, so is mine for General Zelgius.

— Sigrun, when fighting Levail in Part IV, Endgame (2) of Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: Lord Sephiran, explain yourself! Your reasons for deceiving our empress may prevent me from striking you down as an enemy to the crown!
Sephiran: I have nothing to say to you. I am merely an obstacle. Do what you must do.
Sigrun: Sanaki trusted you! And so did I. You've turned your back on us, and the empire. How is that even possible?
Sephiran: Sigrun, do with me what you will. Promise me that you will look after Lady Sanaki from now on.
Sigrun: I will. I will protect her from the likes of you.

— Sigrun, when fighting Sephiran in Part IV, Endgame (4) of Radiant Dawn.
You address the Holy Guard!
— Sigrun's SpotPass parley quote in Awakening.
We will engage you now!
— Sigrun, in a SpotPass battle in Awakening.
I will not leave your side.
— Sigrun's SpotPass recruitment quote in Awakening.
No one defies the empress and lives.
— Sigrun, in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
Sigrun: No one defies the empress and lives.
Cherche: Oh, so just by being here, I'm expected to submit to your ruler?
Sigrun: There is one other option: you can die!

— Sigrun's additional quote when fighting Cherche in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
So it's come to this? Very well. You'll get your fight.
— Sigrun, in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.
Cherche: Why do you fight? Is there no way for us to settle things amicably?
Sigrun: I fight to defend what is dear to me. So as long as you threaten it, this fight is inevitable.

— Sigrun, when fighting Cherche in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.

Death quotes

Sanaki... ...However long you may live... please...never change...
— Sigrun, in Radiant Dawn.
Sigrun: Nnngh... I must not... falter...
Sanaki: Sigrun! Pull back! Get out of here right now!
Sigrun: No, Apostle Sanaki. I shall fight until my last breath! I won't leave your side until... you are safe.
Sanaki: Sigrun!

— Sigrun's retreat quote in Part III, Chapter 12 of Radiant Dawn.
Beware, Empress! They are...strong...
— Sigrun, in Smash Brethren 1 in Awakening.
Rrgh, I'm finished... The rest is up...to the others...
— Sigrun, in Smash Brethren 3 in Awakening.

Sigrun is the commander of the Holy Guard of Begnion, but now she’s taking charge of the bridal festival with her fabulous outfit! This is actually a custom-made outfit sewn specially for the festivities. They did a great job of nailing her look, didn’t they? She’s always served as Apostle Sanaki’s right hand, but now she’s taking the starring role in style! Sigrun is a loyal knight who has supported Sanaki through thick and thin. If she really got married, imagine what a pillar of strength she’d be for her lucky partner!
