(Japanese: ルカ Ruka) is a playable character appearing in TearRing Saga: Yutona Heroes War Chronicles. He is a Bow Fighter serving Count Marlon of Wellt.

Role

If Runan speaks to Ruka during Map 2: Subduing the Bandits Eugen will comment that their forces currently lack someone that can use a bow. When he appears later at Wellt Castle, if he was not recruited by Runan and Holmes visits Wellt Castle after Map 12, Holmes will comment that their forces are not in need of an archer when considering him, though Katri does say that he is passionate.

During Map 3: Tragic Soldiers, Ruka can visit his older sister Raquel in the upper left house, if he does so before Sasha he will receive Raquel's favorite Hand Bow as a parting gift. During the visit, Raquel invites him to a meal, saying he can't grow into a strong hunter on an empty stomach. Despite Raquel having a strong disdain of killing, she doesn't openly oppose Ruka taking this path, but she remains confused by his choice. If Ruka visits the house a second time, she asks him if he will return home after the dethroning of Codha. Ruka says that he hopes he will be allowed to stay at the palace after the fighting and doesn't intend to return home any time soon.

If Raquel joins Runan's forces Ruka is surprised to see her. Raquel then teases him that she has been talking to princess Sasha about him.

If Ruka visited Raquel before Sasha during Map 3 and both he and his sister are in Runan's army during Map 26: Ghost Operation, an event where Raquel abstains from killing one of the enemy soldiers occurs. Eugen tells her to finish the job; the player can choose between two options for her, to leave, or to stay. If the first option is chosen Raquel will leave the army entirely after refusing to kill the enemy soldier. If Raquel chooses to stay, she will hesitate and the soldier will kill Ruka, who steps onto the scene unaware of what is happening. Ruka dies in her arms and she discards her vow of not killing humans. His death under this circumstance is considered equivalent to an ordinary death in combat, and he can be revived with the Dakruon later in the game.

If Ruka survived, during the ending he returns home after the war, no longer desiring to be a knight. His attitude during his ending varies if his sister survived or not, with him being much more somber if she did not.

Personality and character

Ruka's desire to become a full fledged knight of Wellt appears to have arisen suddenly, to the confusion of his older sister Raquel. Ruka's infatuation with Sasha appears to be one of the reasons that he chose the path of a knight; he wants to get closer to Sasha. If someone other than Ruka or Sasha visits Raquel, she mentions that Ruka left to avenge his parents, though it is unclear what happened to his parents.

Ruka is very nervous and shy around Sasha, though Sasha thinks she is doing something wrong and upsetting him and doesn't realize his feelings.
