Renewal (chapter)/Script
In the aftermath of Emmeryn's death, Basilio urges the Shepherds onward in their escape, though Chrom is emotionally distant. A group of Plegian brigands arrive to cut off their escape, forcing the Shepherds to fight their way to their escape.
The general of the Plegians, Mustafa, offers the Ylisseans mercy should they surrender, having been touched by Emmeryn's final words; Frederick asks how they could trust Gangrel's underlings, and the Shepherds chose instead to fight. Soon after the battle starts, Mustafa notices thieves on the battlefield, but prioritizes the Ylisseans.
During the battle, when some soldiers begin to show a reluctance to fight after Emmeryn's sacrifice, Mustafa formally dismisses any unwilling to fight; this show of faith inspires the soldiers to continue fighting in the name of their general. Mustafa orders his soldiers to draw in the Ylisseans before striking with reinforcements. Upon his death, Mustafa requests that the Shepherds spare those of his men that survive.
A woman arrives upon the Shepherds' victory, and Basilio introduces her as Olivia and responsible for their escape route; the Shepherds board carriages and make their escape. At Castle Ferox, the Shepherds lament Emmeryn's death. Chrom expresses frustration at his failure to protect his sister, but Robin and the Shepherds convince him of his capability; Chrom resolves to avenge Emmeryn. Olivia asks to assist, to repay Emmeryn's kindness to her, and the two khans affirm Ferox's support in putting an end to Gangrel's tyranny. The Shepherds prepare to dethrone Gangrel.
Summary
Emmeryn's death devastates Chrom, but Robin offers words of support. They depart for Plegia to settle matters with King Gangrel once and for all.

Trivia
- This chapter is one of few chapters in the game where the preparations theme doesn't play during that phase of setup. In this case, the music from the preceding cutscene continues onto the battle preparations screen.
- The music that plays during battle in this chapter does not change in any way whatsoever between the map, the player phase battle, and the enemy phase battle; the music also continues when facing the boss, despite bosses normally playing a completely different piece of music from the main battle.
- When Chrom gets words of encouragement from the Shepherds, Miriel, Gaius and Cordelia are the only ones absent.
