Professor level

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.

Professor level is a mechanic in Fire Emblem: Three Houses; it determines the number of resources, tutoring sessions, etc. the player can access. It is a letter based system that starts at E and ends at A+. It is possible to buy the highest professor level attained on a previous playthrough through New Game+.

Mechanics

Uses

Professor level is used for various different mechanics. They are listed below:

Activity points

The number of activity points Byleth has when exploring Garreg Mach Monastery is determined by their professor level. The number increases as Byleth's professor level increases, but the player will not be granted any additional activity points for the current session if their professor level increases during an exploration session.

The number of available activity points is as listed below:

Available activity points
Professor level Activity points
E 1
E+ 2
D 3
D+ 4
C 5
C+ 6
B 7
B+ 8
A 9
A+ 10

Lecture points

The number of lecture points Byleth has—and therefore the number of students they can teach on one day—is determined by professor level. The number increases with every letter increase, but not with "+" levels.

The number of available lecture points is as listed below:

Available lecture points
Professor level Lecture points
E, E+ 3
D, D+ 4
C, C+ 5

Battle points

The number of battle points the player has is determined by professor level. Battle points determine how many auxiliary battles or paralogues the player can do on one free day (excluding the free auxiliary battles only available on Normal difficulty).

The number of available battle points is as listed below:

Available battle points
Professor level Battle points
E–C 1
C+–A 2
A+ 3

Monthly funds

In Part I—excluding Chapter 12 if Byleth sided with Edelgard—Byleth will receive a certain amount of gold at the start of every in-game month. With a higher professor level, Byleth will gain more gold at the start of each month.

The amount of gold gained at the start of each month is as listed below:

Monthly funds
Professor level Monthly funds
E 1,000
E+ 2,000
D 3,000
D+ 4,000
C and above 5,000

Adjutants

Main article: Adjutant

From professor level C onwards, adjutants can be assigned to the player's combat units. They can assist the main combat unit in battle and gain EXP and class EXP in battle. The number of available adjutants is determined exclusively by professor level:

Master classes

Main article: Class change/Nintendo Switch games § Fire Emblem: Three Houses

If Byleth has not achieved professor level C or above, units in their army cannot attempt exams for master-tier classes. Furthermore, the available master classes cannot be viewed, including their certification requirements.

Increasing professor level

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

Many activities will provide experience toward increasing Byleth's professor level. The experience required to attain each level is as follows:

Professor experience requirements for level increase
Game Level progression (total skill experience)
Base E E+ D D+ C C+ B B+ A A+
Three Houses 0 100 1,500 3,600 6,400 10,900 16,300 24,000 32,800 44,500

Choir practice and dining together

Byleth earns professor experience based on the attitudes of the selected characters when participating in choir practice or sharing a meal; they earn 25 experience for each student that dislike choir or the meal, 50 for each that is neutral, and 100 for each that likes it. This results in the following reward scheme:

Professor experience based on character attitudes[1]
First character's attitude
Dislike Neutral Like
Second character's attitude Dislike 50 75 125
Neutral 75 100 150
Like 125 150 200

During special events for dining together, the experience from disliked and neutral characters is doubled (to 50 and 100, respectively), creating the following reward scheme:

Dislike Neutral Like
Second character's attitude Dislike 100 150 150
Neutral 150 200 200

Fishing

When fishing, Byleth earns professor experience based on the fish that is caught. During events that allow multiple fish to be caught at once, each fish provides experience.

  • Tournaments: 100 experience for losing, 300 experience for winning.[1]
  • Gardening: when harvesting, 100 experience per the grade of the seed with the lowest grade.[1]
