The Pontifex (Japanese: 教皇 Pope) is a non-combatant class that is exclusive to Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. It is the class of Mansel, a non-playable character and the pontifex of Rausten, in his appearance as a non-playable unit in Chapter 18. The Pontifex is just a personalized variant of the standard Civilian class and shares its gameplay role: Mansel as a Pontifex cannot wield any weapons, has no skills and has no offensive or defensive capabilities, with part of the chapter's goal being to protect him from harm.
