I know the law, L'Arachel. The relics must never leave the temple, with the sole exception of the occasional ascension ceremony, but I think that, when the world needs saving, we can make the odd exception.

Mansel (Japanese: マンセル Mansell) is a minor character appearing in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. He is the pious ruler of the theocracy of Rausten and the uncle of L'Arachel.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Role

Mansel is mentioned in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones's prologue narration as the highest power in Rausten, though little other info is given on him.

Mansel appears in person as an NPC in Chapter 19: Last Hope. He welcomes L'Arachel the others into Rausten Court to rest before their travels to Darkling Woods.

Later that night Riev attacks the palace with Grado remnants, with a particular vendetta against Mansel, whom had excommunicated Riev from the clergy some time ago.[2] Mansel survives, being protected by Ephraim and Eirika's forces.

The next day Mansel bequeaths the Sacred Stone of Rausten to Eirika and Ephraim for their battle against the Demon King. He also gives Latona and Ivaldi to them to aid in their battles in Darkling Woods, mentioning that saving the world is worth breaking a few laws and removing the relics from the temple.

He is somewhat troubled to see his niece depart to Darkling Woods, though she reassures him that she is capable of banishing the forest's demons. He bids his niece and the others farewell.

Personality and character

Mansel appears to be a level-headed ruler. He cares for his niece, L'Arachel, though he doesn't seem to be able to control her when she sets her desire on doing something, in this case, wandering across the entirety of Magvel.
