Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Geitz is a level 3 Warrior available in the Linus version of Four-Fanged Offense. To get this version of the map, the player's Lords must have a combined level of 50 or higher. This is a steep cost, especially since both Lyn and Eliwood are difficult to train. That said, the reward is getting access to Geitz, who is a solid unit.

Geitz's base stats are solid across the board, except for resistance, which is very low. If the player is playing in Hard Mode, Geitz receives Hard Mode bonuses, which further improve him. Despite joining promoted, his growths are also decent, especially in offensive stats. His base weapon ranks are excellent. A B-rank in axes lets him use most axes in the game with no investment. The same goes for his B-rank in bows.

Geitz's standout stat is his very high strength - 19 in Hard Mode. Geitz uses axes and has enough speed to double, so he can one-round entire groups of enemies with a Hand Axe. Having the ability to fight well on enemy phase marks a good combat unit in Blazing Blade. Geitz has that ability. He also has utility as a bow user on player phase - he can one-shot or one-round tough enemy fliers with strong bows.

Geitz's downsides are that he is unmounted and his resistance is downright horrible. Being unmounted means he may fall behind on larger maps. While he can still be rescue-dropped by mounted units, it would be more convenient if he could keep up by himself. Also, while his HP is high at 44 and he is fast enough to avoid getting doubled, his low resistance is still a problem. Geitz easily falls prey to status staves like Berserk. He also fares poorly against strong magical foes, who appear more often lategame. If Geitz's speed has not increased much, the Valkyries in Cog of Destiny's Hector Hard Mode can double him. There are also enemy Druids with very high magic, posing another threat to him. Geitz can stay away from these enemies and fight elsewhere, so they do not render him useless. But as more foes start to exploit his low resistance, he becomes less useful compared to other units.

Trivia

In Fiora's and his C support dialog, Geitz is implied to be from Bulgar,[2] but this is likely mistranslated, since in Chapter 23E/24H (Linus), he is instead said to be a merchant worked for Belger,[1] and the Japanese version consistently uses ベルガー商会 (Belger Company) rather than ブルガル (Bulgar) for both cases.
