Intro

The intro is a general, usually brief, paragraph describing general information about the character and their relevance to the plot, without any major spoilers. Things the intro should have, in general order it should be in:

Quote
A quote, usually that they say, describing the character without spoilers. Remember that certain characters, such as Alva of Thracia 776, do not have a single line in the game other than their death quote, so do not worry if you cannot find a good quote.
Name
The characters english name, or romanization, with their Japanese name with proper romanization. Additionally, some characters are known as different things in Japan, such as Marisa is Marica.
Game appearances
The games the character appears in or is referenced in.
Chapters
The chapter the character first appears in, is first playable in, or is a boss in.
Starting class
The class the character starts as.
Relationships
The relationships between them and other characters, such as family, enemies, friends, lovers, etc.
Home town
The town or country where the character is originally from, or is settled in at the start of the game.

Example

The breeze, the trees, the sky, the brooks... They are all speaking to us.
— Sue to Roy in a support conversation.

Sue (Japanese: スー Sue) is a character in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. She first appears in Chapter 6.

A Sacaean nomadic girl, Sue is a member of the Kutolah tribe and granddaughter of their leader, Dayan, also known as the Silver Wolf. She is also the daughter of Rath, a playable character from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. While her mother's name is unknown, there is the possibility of Lyn being the other parent, as suggested by her shared ending with Rath.

Biography

The biography section describes a character's history. It describes their backstory, but also the events of the game or games they're in. If a game has branching storylines, multiple sections can be made, with headers saying the path it is from.

A biography section should always take the best case scenario in account for a character. For example, it will assume that a playable character is recruited.

Game information

The next heading will be the name of the game they appear in. If there are multiple, cover all of them in the section, in the following order:

  • Mainline game, in release order. Fire Emblem: Archanea Saga is considered a mainline game for this purpose.
  • Spin-off games, in release order.
  • If a character originated from a spin-off material, it will always be put first. For example, Alfonse will have his Heroes information before his Engage informations, despite Engage being a mainline game. Monica will have her Warriors: Three Hopes information before her Heroes one despite Heroes releasing first.

All games will have the following subsections:

Role

In this section, describe the role of the character in the gameplay. Role in the plot goes in biography.

Supports

For supports, use the template from the respective game, using the table below to choose the appropriate template.

Special case: If the character appears only in Genealogy of the Holy War, replace ==Supports== with ==Love growths==.

Support conversations

For support conversations, which feature in The Binding Blade, The Blazing Blade, The Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, Awakening, Fates, Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and Three Houses, make a subpage named "Character's name/Supports".

EXAMPLE:

Main article: Amelia/Supports

This page should have sections for each person whom the character can support with. In each of those sections, start with one of the following templates:

Game Template
The Binding Blade SupportDataGBA
The Blazing Blade SupportDataGBA
The Sacred Stones SupportDataGBA
Path of Radiance SupportDataGCN
Awakening SupportData3DS01
Fates SupportData3DS02
Echoes: Shadows of Valentia SupportData3DS03
Three Houses SupportDataNS01

Then, order the three conversations per level. First the C level, second the B, and lastly, the A conversation.

In the case of Archanea and Valentia characters, add a new section to the character's page, ==Base conversations==. The reason for this division is that support conversations are not truly related to supports in New Mystery of the Emblem while in Shadows of Valentia, additional dialogues can be viewed by speaking to a party member in a village or similar location. Then, make a link to the subpage, which, in this case, is {{main|(Character's name)/Conversations}}

EXAMPLE:

Main article: Est/Conversations

Don't forget to categorize this subpage! Choose the corresponding category/categories:

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Discuss the character's function and usefulness in gameplay here.

Repeat these sections under different game headings if there are any more. A good example would be Hector.

Personality

This section is two to three paragraphs and usually takes the longest. In the first paragraph, describe the character's personality. Not just in a few sentences, but try to describe every aspect of their personality that is mentioned. Use the support conversations and other parts of the games' scripts for this information.

In the second to third paragraphs, describe how they are related to other characters. Then, describe any stories about their history, if there are any. If there is a lot of information, this section might take three paragraphs in total.

Also, references are required. At least five should be used if they are a playable character, with less being acceptable for NPCs.

Endings

List the character's endings, both regular and paired endings. First goes the regular, then the paired one(s). In the case of The Binding Blade, do not forget to list both short (if the character was not chosen for the final chapter) and long (in case they were chosen) endings.

If they appear in two or more games, write the endings under subsections. This is valid for Tellius characters, too; below ==Endings==, write ==''Radiant Dawn''==, as there are no endings in Path of Radiance, and then put the character's ending.

Quotes

If the quotes section becomes excessively long, move it to its own sub-page. Heroes quotes automatically get their own sub-pages.

Death quote

This section is self-explanatory. Use Template:Quote for the sentence(s). First goes the normal death quote, and in case the character has a special one, explain where they say it.

EXAMPLE:

No... It's not... I'm sorry, <player>... Everyone...forgive me...
— Lyn in her story.
Oh... But I have so... so much... Oh, <player>...
— Lyn in Eliwood/Hector's tale.

Battle quotes

This is a feature not present in all games. Here go all lines said by characters in certain battles, such as when fighting against related characters or in final chapters. It should include the full dialogue, and not only the quote said by the page character. Use Template:Quote for this.

Other appearances

List here all other appearances of the characters outside their games. These could be the trading card games, manga and novel adaptations, anime, Super Smash Bros. series or even a truly random cameo. It is recommended to create different subsections for each appearance.

Trivia

Self-explanatory.

Etymology and other languages

The meaning of the name. A reference should be used, preferably from ThinkBabyNames.com or Behind The Name. After the reference, the relationship to the character's role or personality should be stated. If there are mythological ties to it, they should be listed after the meaning.

For this section, use Template:Names.

Gallery

For games with sprites, it is recommended to use this table:
