The secret of Ayra's wandering

Ayra's native land of Isaach was invaded by Grannvale's large army and was in the depths of destruction. Her older brother Mariccle, the king at the time, sensing that his destiny was slowly disappearing, entrusts his only son, Shannan, to Ayra. He wanted her to protect Shannan until Isaach's restoration day should come.

At that time, men connected to the royal families of enemy nations in the war were executed, even if they were children. Women were at best enslaved, though it was usual in most cases for them to first be used as playthings before being killed. Mariccle didn't want Shannan, naturally, nor his dear younger sister to see such an experience. Perhaps he knew that his determined sister couldn't say no if he were to entrust Shannan to her. As Mariccle anticipated, with no other option, Ayra takes Shannan and escapes from the battlefield, then her homeland.

However, at that time, the only place not under the influence of the great power Grannvale was the opposing Verdane. Escaping also from other countries friendly with Grannvale, it's not difficult to imagine being handed over as prisoners should their identities be discovered. So Ayra escapes to Verdane, but there being a lack of food every day due to their long wandering, out of necessity she comes to work as a mercenary for Verdane. It appears those were the circumstances that lead the brave and pure of heart Ayra to cooperate with Cimbaeth's wrongdoing.
