Close Guard (Japanese: 近距離警戒 Short-distance caution) is a three-tiered passive type C skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; the individual tiers of the skill are known as Close Guard 1, Close Guard 2, and Close Guard 3 in order from lowest to highest. Units with a Close Guard skill allows their wielders' nearby allies to get boosts to their Defense and Resistance during combat when fighting users of melee-attacking skills; the size of the allies' boosts increase with the skill's tier.
