(聖者ブラギ Saint Blagi) was a member of the Twelve Crusaders of Jugdral, the original wielder of the Valkyrie Staff, and the founder of both Grannvale's House Edda and the Church of Edda.
Biography
In his youth, Blagi was captured in the child hunts and was to be sacrificed, but was rescued from captivity by a Maerist Loptyrian and adopted him. He was raised as a Maerist Loptyrian in Orgahil, becoming a bishop of the faith. Like the other Maerist Loptyrians, he sought to help the people of Jugdral, which led him to join the revolutions against the Loptyr Empire at a young age.[1] Eventually, by the year Grann 642, Blagi was among the survivors barricaded in Darna Fortress, after the tide turned against their movement and the Loptyr Empire's forces overwhelmed the revolution. It was at this fortress that the Miracle of Darna occurred, changing the fate of the world: Blagi was chosen by an unidentified member of the twelve dragon "gods" who descended upon the fortress, to undergo a blood-bond with said dragon, transforming him into one of the Crusaders. He was granted the Valkyrie Staff by this dragon. Afterward, he emerged from Darna with the other Crusaders and fought in the remainder of the Holy War.
At the war's conclusion, he joined with Heim and five other Crusaders to set up the Kingdom of Grannvale, establishing House Edda with himself as its first duke; some time afterward, Blagi returned to Orgahil and found his Maerist conclave had been wiped out in his absence. This motivated him to start the Church of Edda, a structured faith which returned to the pre-Loptyrian religious concepts of Jugdral, in order to help the people of Jugdral recover from the centuries of Loptyrian domination. He also constructed the Blagi Tower as a memorial to the lost Maerists who raised him and as a reminder to the world that not all Loptyrians were evil.[2] Blagi wished to ensure that Loptyrians were not persecuted in the post-Loptyr Empire world, inscribing this message on a plaque in Blagi Tower, but his message was ignored and forgotten and the Blagi Tower message was later erased.[3]

- ↑ "Blagi, one of the Twelve Crusaders, was a holy worker who received the teachings of that Maerist Loptyrian church. As he was about to become a sacrifice at a young age, he was saved by a Maerist bishop, and grew up in a hidden small island located in Agustria's northern area which was one of their central locations. Then, in that land Blagi took in knowledge of a bishop, and joined the liberation army at a young age. He continued to fight against the oppression of the Loptyr Empire, and as one of the last twelve fighters, met the miracle at Darna fortress. Blagi, who acquired the powers of the dragon race, was idolized as the one who controls fate and life, and did myriad amounts of services during the Holy War." - Designers' notes from Treasure, as translated by Serenes Forest
- ↑ "After the Empire was destroyed, Blagi went back to his Maerist home town that saved and nurtured him. However, that land was already destroyed by the Imperial army, and what struck his eyes was the dispersed corpses of priests. Suprised and terrified, he went on to save the ruined world, and in order to release the people from the aftereffects of the Loptyrian Church, strived to revive the old Earthen religion. This was because it was the one and only religion for the people who are put in a place against Loptyr, and the Maerist bishops were also wishing for it. At that point, Blagi constructed a new church with his homeland of Edda as the base location, and at the same time constructed a gigantic tower at the island that protected and nurtured him. In one theory, it was said to seal his own powers, but the tower's goal was to mourn for the Maerist priests who saved the world from destruction, and to serve as an omen for the next generation. The omen was that the reason to build the tower was to tell them there were people in the Imperial inner circle and the Loptyrian church that saved the people by sacrificing their own lives, and to pay the debts owed to their heavenly souls." - Designers' notes from Treasure, as translated by Serenes Forest
- ↑ So, Blagi wanted to leave a warning to the future generations that the descendants of the Empire’s upper class citizens shouldn’t be persecuted or discriminated. Actually, Blagi wrote that himself in the altar’s stone monument, inside the tower, but somebody destroyed it later. Then, the warning was once again forgotten, and the results of such are well-known by everyone." - Designers' notes from Treasure, as translated by Serenes Forest
