Oboro is a Spear Fighter that joins relatively early on in both Birthright and Revelation. Her personal skill, Nohr Enmity, boosts her damage by +3 whenever she fights an enemy class with the word "Nohr" in its help text. In Birthright, this is the vast majority of enemies, and accounts for roughly half of the enemies in Revelation, giving her an easy damage advantage over other units. This is in addition to her already good strength and speed base and growth rates makes it easy for her to secure one-round KOs with a good pair up and/or Speed Tonics. Her defenses are not particularly weak either, and her access to naginata helps to boost her bulk further. In particular, the Guard Naginata gives +5 to both defense and resistance, which can allow her to tank several hits in one turn, at the cost of dealing weaker damage. Additionally, Oboro's base weapon level of C in lances allows her to equip it with no investment. Lance access in general is a strong boon for her, as it allows her to use the Beast Killer to easily dispatch enemy mounted and beast units, of which there are plenty in both routes.
Oboro's relatively high bulk makes her compare well to much of Birthrights cast, which can be rather frail, particularly in the early game. This also rings true for Revelations earlygame, where enemy attack is high and the player will likely be heavily reliant on Corrin and possibly their Dragonstone to handle most combat. Her access to lances and naginata is also a slight boon, as it has weapon triangle advantage against tomes, which can help her deal with enemy Dark Mages, Diviners, and other magical enemies more safely than most physically-oriented units.
Oboro additionally comes with some useful utility skills in Swap and Seal Defense. The former is a valuable positioning skill which can be used in a variety of ways, from taking the place of a frailer ally in enemy range, to moving ahead of an ally to swap them further forward and give them more effective movement, as two examples. Seal Defense on the other hand can massively debuff a foe's defense by −6, which will make it significantly easier for allies to secure kills. This can be a bit overkill in Birthright, which generally has weaker enemies, but in higher difficulties of Revelation, this is more valuable as enemies are much bulkier. She can also trigger this more safely from a distance by using the Javelin or Spear.
As she is recruited at level 10, Oboro can be promoted immediately into either Spear Master or Basara, or even reclass after promotion into Merchant or Mechanist. Of these choices, Spear Master is likely the most ideal, as it further improves her already good strength and speed, and offers skills that can boost her offenses even further in Lancefaire and Seal Speed. Basara can alternatively be chosen to give her access to Rend Heaven as well as tomes and scrolls for a more consistent 1-2 range option, though her low base magic may make using them somewhat tricky. Merchant and Mechanist both offer potentially strong skills in Spendthrift and Replicate, though as both are learned at level 15, they can take quite a bit of investment to reach. Replicate in particular has great value in its ability to duplicate her strong offenses, but is also even trickier to obtain as Mechanist does not retain her lance level.
Overall, Oboro is a strong and consistent combat unit that can easily fit into most players' armies. Her good balance of high strength and speed, along with respectable defenses allow her to steadily secure kills while remaining healthy herself. She requires little investment to get going, but can still stand to benefit from it thanks to her solid overall growth rates.

Personality
Oboro has a strong hatred for Nohr, which stemmed from them murdering her parents in her childhood. When near a Nohrian, or anything else related to Nohr, she has the habit of making a very intimidating glare, a side effect of her childhood trauma. However, she is willing to put that hatred aside when forced to work with a Nohrian, but this comes with some difficulty, as she struggles not to make her trademark glare. When Oboro has known a Nohrian long enough, she makes the glare less frequently around them.
She has a strong fashion sense, as her father owned a kimono store. Oboro's passion for fashion has led her to manipulate other people into going along with her suggestions. This ranges from guilt-tripping Mozu and chasing down Saizo, just so they can try the clothes she has prepared for them.
