Katarina joins fairly late and is a fairly hard unit to get as the player needs to complete all the previous gaiden chapters as well as talk to her with Kris 3 times and try not to kill her. Once you get her you will notice her fairly mediocre bases for this late into the game, but excellent weapon ranks and growths to compensate. Her B rank in tomes allows her to use any tome in the game and her C rank in staves gives her access to Physic and Warp (in no Lunatic difficulties) at base. However, Katarina is still plagued by her low bases, so she desires training from the drill grounds or stat boosting items. These aren't small prices to pay as money is fairly scarse in ''New Mystery'' and all units greately desire stat boosting itemssuch as speedwings and seraph robes. If the player does decide to invest heavely into Katarine they will find a very good Aura user and Nosferatu tank, helping greately during the many difficult chapters of ''New Mystery''. Katarina doesn't have too many useful reclassing options, but swordmaster is notable as it doesn't heavely lower Katarina's magic and lets her use the Levin sword. This is notable as the swordmaster clas boasts a great boost in speed, allowing Katarina to double most enemies, and due to the low resistance of most enemies in ''New Mystery'' it can deal excellent damage. The Levin sword does have low might, so it's recommended to forge it in order to reach the thresholds necessary to one round enemies. | |||
Overall, Katarina is a hard unit to get and needs notable investemnt to catc up to the rest of the army. However, if the player does invest in her they wll get an incredebly useful combat and utility unit that will make many tiedious chapters much easyer, especially in 0% growth playthroughs and LTCs. | |||
