逆鱗 |
Literally speaking, 逆鱗 gekirin translates as "reverse scale", and originates from an element of Chinese mythology which holds that every dragon has a single scale which grows in the opposite direction from their other scales, and touching this gekirin will infuriate the dragon. This is commonly used as an idiom, 逆鱗に触れる (literally, "touch the reverse scale"), which refers to provoking the anger of one's superior, and as a result 逆鱗 gekirin is also taken to mean "imperial anger" or "the anger of one's superior". It is referred to in the internal files as "DISPLEASURE". |
