Seventeen years after the [[Battle of Belhalla]], both [[Oifey]] and [[Shannan]] are currently away from [[Tirnanog]], the remote village in which they raised [[Seliph]], son of the late [[Sigurd]]. [[Danann]], the "King of Isaach", has finally learned of Tirnanog's status as the hideout of the growing revolution force against his rule of Isaach, and in light of the absence of Oifey and Shannan orders a strike against the vulnerable village. In response to the news of the impending [[Dozel]] army, Seliph chooses to set out with the two remaining fighters in the village—[[Larcei]]/[[Creidne]] and [[Scáthach]]/[[Dalvin]]—and confront the enemy head-on, bringing with him the priestess [[Lana]]/[[Muirne]]. Shortly into the skirmish, Oifey returns from his scouting mission with his protegés, [[Diarmuid]]/[[Tristan]] and [[Lester]]/[[Deimne]], and joins the fray.
