Falcon Knight
| ||||||
|
The Falcon Knight (Japanese: ファルコンナイト Falcon Knight) is an advanced, pegasus-mounted flying class which debuted in Fire Emblem Gaiden. In all of its appearances, it is either one of or the only promoted form of the Pegasus Knight; in the Archanea games, in which the Falcon Knight either does not exist at all or is downplayed, the Dracoknight is instead the primary promotion option for Pegasus Knights. In Radiant Dawn, Falcon Knights can in turn promote to the third-tier Seraph Knight.
Falcon Knights are for the most part defined by their high speed, movement and resistance. While not possessing the raw strength of their fellow advanced flying class, the Wyvern Lord, their speed and mobility are ample compensation and they are particularly effective against magic-wielding units. However, like all flying units, they are vulnerable to bows and - depending on the game - some or all wind magic tomes. In all of their appearances, they are capable of wielding lances, but are also capable of wielding swords and staves depending on the individual game.
The exact spelling of the English name of the class varies from game to game, likely due to text space constraints. "Falcon Knight" is the most recent rendering, used in Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn and Awakening; Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, The Sacred Stones and Shadow Dragon instead use the shortened "Falcoknight". Both are valid renderings of the Japanese name.

Trivia
- The Falcoknight exists in Shadow Dragon, but as it is a remake of a game in which they did not exist, there are no enemy Falcoknights and the option to promote Pegasus Knights into them is extremely limited, as the Elysian Whip is available only through the online shop. New Mystery of the Emblem rectified this by providing obtainable Elysian Whips in the course of the main story and by adding several enemy Falcoknights.
- The Falcon Knight exists only as a leftover unused class in Thracia 776. In that game proper, their usual role as the advanced pegasus class is filled by the Pegasus Knight, with the Pegasus Rider acting as the unpromoted pegasus class.
