Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Elise is a troubadour who joins in chapter 7 of Conquest, where she is auto recruited from turn 3, and chapter 14 of Revelations, where she joins at the start of the chapter. In Conquest she comes with the heal and freeze staff, as she is very frail it's best to keep her out of combat and mostly heal with her. Since the only other unit with access to staffs at that point in the game will be either Jakob or Felicia, Elise is almost mandatory in order to beat the chapter. In Revelations she comes two levels higher than her Conquest counterpart, but her bases are absolutely pathetic for the part of the game in which she joins, even so she is needed to recruit Benny and Charlotte so she should be kept out of combat and only be used to heal the rest of the army.
Elise has excellent growth in magic, speed, luck and resistance, but poor or mediocre growths in HP, strength, skill and defense. As such she will not be able to take hits very well and despite her great resistance, because of her low HP even magic based weapons will take out a large chunk of her HP, but thanks to her class she does not need to fight and can instead support the rest of the army with staffs and her mount. Elise comes with the skills Resistance +2 and Lily's Poise. Lily's poise is a skill that grants extra damage to adjacent allies, as well as lower the damage they take, this works excellently along with Elise's supportive role and makes it a great way to additionally support frontline units. As a troubadour she will also learn the skill Demoiselle which causes male allies within three spaces to take 2 less damage; which can be useful to improve the enemy phase of units such as Xander.
Elise has direct access to the Strategist and Maid promotions. Strategist gives her access to tomes and further improves her already high magic, resistance, speed and movement at the small cost of -1 skill. Elise may seem to not be very powerful as a strategist, but with a +2 or maybe even +3 fire tome, she'll have no problem defeating enemies. While in the strategist class Elise learns the skills Rally Resistance and Inspiration, both of these skills work excellently with Elise's mainly supportive role in the army. As a maid Elise gains extra bulk and strength, but losses her mount and high movement, she also gains the access to daggers which work terribly with their low might and Elise's poor strength and Elise will need to use two Arms scrolls in order to gain access to the magical based Flame Shuriken. As a maid, she learns the skills Live to Serve and Tomebreaker, Live to Serve doesn't help her very much because thanks to her low bulk as a maid or Strategist, she won't be taking hits in the first place, making the skill redundant.
Elise's best option, however, may not seem very good on paper but allows her to become both powerful and bulky at the same time. This class option is Wyvern Rider. Due to Elise's low strength, it may seem like she won't do any damage whatsoever, but with a strength tonic, her gaining Strength +2 after one single level, and a forged bronze axe once the forge is unlocked, she'll be able to deal all the damage she needs to up until she gets the bolt axe and her promotion to Malig Knight. Reclassing her to Wyvern Rider is also a great idea because, in Chapter 10, she can ferry Nosferatu-Tank Odin to the mid-left side of the map, giving him nice pair-up bonuses, and gaining support points along the way so they can gain their S-support and have Ophelia. This is great because Elise is Ophelia's best mother. By the time Elise's physical damage falls off, she gets the Bolt Axe, which although it will have a shaky hit rate, allows her to deal tremendous amounts of damage until her promotion to Malig Knight, where a forged fire tome does wonders.
Overall, Elise can either be a great healer giving good support to her allows using staves and her skills, or a god-of-warfare as a Malig Knight, or even a sorcerer if paired with Odin and have great combat alongside the rest of your units.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are three different variations of Elise available to Heroes, all of which are tied to her storyline appearance in Fates. The normal variation of Elise is one of the characters available to be summoned by players from the game's initial launch. A summer variation of Elise was made available between the period of July 28, 2017 through August 31, 2017 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Nohrian Summer update. This variation is based on Elise's appearance in a picture that Arthur and Effie look at after Elise wins Beach Brawl. A hot spring-themed variation of Elise was made available between the period of January 23, 2019 through February 23, 2019 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Hostile Springs update.
