Fortress Defense/Resistance (Japanese: 守備魔防の城塞 Defense/Resistance Fortress) is a three-tiered passive type A skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; the individual tiers of the skill are known as Fort. Def/Res 1, Fort. Def/Res 2, and Fort. Def/Res 3 in order from lowest to highest. Units with a Fort. Def/Res skill gain a large boost to their Defense and Resistance stats, at the cost of a drop to their Attack stat; the size of the Defense and Resistance boosts increases, and the Attack drop decreases, with the skill's tier.

Trivia
- When Fort. Def/Res was added to the game in the Brave Redux update, its icons used the borders of a traditional three-tier skill, with the lowest tier using a bronze border (shown right) and the highest a gold. In the Legendary Hero Eirika: Graceful Resolve update, the icons where altered to their current state.
- The character reveal trailer for the Brave Redux update shows the original tier 3 icon alongside its listing for Fort. Def/Res 3 in Kliff's listing.[1]
