The Master Seal () is a promotion item that allows units of level ten or higher to promote to the next class if allowed. However it cannot be used on the Pirate and Thief classes which require an Ocean Seal and Fell contract respectively. It is useless on already promoted units, such as Swordmasters in most games but Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn in which it can promote said class into a Trueblade.
Other seals, such as Earth Seals and Heaven Seals are similar to the Master Seal but in which only the later is seen in Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword and only promotes Lords while the former is just another name for the Master Seal.
